The Following are individuals who have, for various reasons, played pivotal roles in the case of The State of Texas v. Lonnie Earl Johnson

Lonnie Johnson – Convicted of capital murder in Harris County in 1994 and sentenced to death.  Executed on July 24, 2007.

Chuck Rosenthal – Prosecuting Attorney and assistant DA who hid police reports in Lonnie Johnson’s case which supported Lonnie’s claim of self-defense.

Jodi Callaway-Cole – Lonnie’s last attorney who discovered missing police reports in Lonnie’s trial, which were found to be exculpatory evidence.  Wrote Petition of Relief to stay Lonnie’s execution.

 Professor/Attorney Jim Marcus – Assisted Jodi Callaway-Cole with Lonnie’s Petition of Relief to stay Lonnie’s execution. 

 Attorney Stanley Schneider – Lonnie’s Defense Attorney (paid by the State of Texas)  who failed to file Lonnie’s last appeal with the Supreme Court, (among other things).

 Robert Morrow – Lonnie’s trial attorney (paid by the State of Texas), claimed to never have seen the previous missing police reports in an affidavit to the Court, July 2007.

 Alvin Nunnery – Lonnie’s trial attorney (paid by the State of Texas), claimed to have never seen the missing police reports in an affidavit to the Court, July 2007.

 Janet Marrow – Lonnie’s next Attorney (paid by the State of Texas), claimed to have never seen the missing police reports in an affidavit to the Court, July 2007.

 Carol Krug – Lonnie’s next attorney (paid by the State of Texas) stated in an affidavit (July 2007)  to the court that the police reports in question were not in the DA’s file when she and Attorney David Schulman searched the records in.  Also, discovered a suspicious note laying at the bottom of one of the DA’s files from an inmate witness for the prosecution and filed a Brady claim against the DA’s office, but lost.

 David Schulman – Lonnie’s next attorney (paid by the State of Texas) stated in an affidavit (July 2007) to the court that the missing police reports were not in the DA’s file when he and Carol Krug searched through Lonnie’s files.
